Superior Concrete is currently looking for a highly motivated Concrete Project Engineer to join our team. We are looking for an individual with extensive knowledge and experience in the Commercial Concrete Industry as a Concrete Project Engineer.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements:

  • Produce quality workmanship within budget and schedule. Responsible estimate review and job cost breakdown.

  • Contract/Scope review and execution.

  • Responsible for reviewing project plans, specifications and contract documents, and coordinating with estimator.

  • Responsible for Pre-Construction duties. Attend pre-construction meetings.

  • Verify and coordinate scope of work with on-site personnel.

  • Manage client relations of assigned projects from preconstruction to closeout.

  • Responsible for all project safety. Plans and supervises all activities of foremen and crews. Maintain high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures ensuring a safe work environment.

  • Effectively manage labor, material, and equipment resources. Responsible for the financial oversight of field labor and time tracking accuracy.

  • Work collaboratively with Superintendent, project team members, and field.

  • Assist Superintendent with initial project set-up including site logistics.

  • Manage and mentor the field and project team successfully and collaboratively.

  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with owners, clients, Construction Managers, project team, consultants/architect/engineers, subcontractors, adjacent community, and governmental agencies.

  • Maintain all paperwork needed for jobsite and employees.

  • Review all project documents, including project submittals, RFI's, and shop drawings, for completeness and accuracy.

  • Create and enforce a site-specific emergency action plan for assigned projects in collaboration with the Superintendent.
    Use project management and scheduling software consistently and accurately.

  • Conduct team meetings, owner/architect meetings, and safety audits presenting job cost, scheduling updates and project status reports at regular intervals.

  • Collaborate with Estimator in helping to create and coordinate change orders.

  • Perform on-site coordination of manpower, materials, and equipment.

  • Plan and coordinate with foreman the materials needed for scope of work.

  • Read, understand and interpret plans and specifications as required and coordinate with Foreman to ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications.

  • Manage project closeout.

  • Ensure company policy, procedures, and standards are enforced.

  • Represent Superior Concrete Inc. to clients in a professional manner and build trusting relationships.

  • Other related duties as assigned or needed.


Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must have minimum 2+ years Project Management experience in the Commercial Concrete industry.

  • Must possess advanced knowledge of commercial concrete construction.

  • Experience managing multiple projects at one time.

  • Understands estimating concepts.

  • Understands contract language and has basic knowledge of construction laws and practices.

  • Understands building codes and other design requirements.

  • Must be able to read and understand plans, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Experience with Project Management and Scheduling software programs.

  • Experience in planning day to day operations, as well as working with management to forecast schedules.

  • Project set up, budget planning, and cost reporting experience is a must.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with managing crews is necessary. Ability to adapt in working with all types of individuals.

  • Highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training and related experience, plus a minimum of three to four years of similar construction engineering experience.
Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, but not required.
